Local Company Gives Teachers Stress Relief Perk to Prepare for Back-To-School Season
Princeton, NJ (August 5, 2019) – East Coast Float Spa, floatation therapy and spa center, is gifting all local teachers one free float in recognition of the back-to-school season.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of school buses, backpack shopping, and open houses, there is a group of unsung heroes: local teachers. East Coast Float Spa is extending a perk to teachers in the region to ease back into the busyness of the school year. The spa is gifting one free float per teacher now through August 30th at their Princeton location. The perk coincides with their fifth year anniversary.
Floatation therapy is an old idea that has been given a fresh facelift. Clean, streamlined, and private float rooms equipped with post-float, private showers and vanities are among the latest trends in floatation therapy. A client can step into one of the lidless float rooms (equipped with around 1000 lbs of medical grade epsom salts) and experience a sensory-input-controlled environment. Current client Sarah Carr states “Floating help[s] me step away from all the stresses from life in and out of the classroom. It help[s] instantly ground me to be more myself.”
The experience abounds in scientific-backed benefits, including reduced stress, anxiety, and tension. It has also been shown to relieve chronic pain and improve overall wellness[1].
Maggie Muir Shylock, a local high school teacher, recalls her thoughts on floating: “I love teaching, I love my students, I love making an impact in the world; I don’t love the stress that comes with teaching. Floating helps to melt the stress away mentally and physically (computer shoulders!), giving me an opportunity to allow my brain to relax, which helps me to clarify what I need to do in and out of school, while giving me time to come up with creative solutions and ideas for my classroom! Or just an escape from thinking about my classroom!”
The free float session can be either 60 minutes or 90 minutes. Each teacher will need to show a valid i.d. or school badge. The company’s Facebook page sites that they “want to support our teachers in any and every way that we can!” High school teacher and avid floatation client Alyxandra Cucinotta asserts that “As a teacher we are often putting everyone else before ourselves. In the business of trying to help everyone else first, we forget to take time to self heal. Floating is a time to truly relax and reflect while only taking care of yourself.”
East Coast Float Spa offers a meditative setting free from the noises and distractions of the outside world, allowing the mind to slow down, unplug, and focus on what’s important. In addition to the Teacher Appreciation offer, they are currently offering Anniversary Sale incentives to clients, August 26th through September 30th.
